Newport Banning Land Trust Open Forum

This is a past event where the public was asked to join us to find out more about the proposed Newport Banning Ranch Development. We heard a presentation from the Newport Banning Land Trust and updates from the Banning Ranch Conservancy.

Newport Banning Land Trust is a local non-profit environmental organization that is the intended recipient of over 250 acres of the Natural Open Space Preserve as part of Newport Banning Ranch. The group has a mission to preserve and enhance the natural values of the land with goals to; ensure it’s open space is enjoyed by future generations, to create a natural reserve, and to provide public access and outdoor recreation activity.
Robyn Vettraino gave us an overview of the water quality and public access issues plaguing the Newport Banning Ranch site and heard about the mission to solve them.

The Banning Ranch Conservancy, a Sec. 501(c)(3) non-profit conservancy, is dedicated to the preservation, acquisition, conservation, and maintenance of the entire Banning Ranch as a permanent public open space, park and coastal nature preserve.
Steve Ray will gave an update on the Banning Ranch Conservancy actions and lawsuits as well as fundraising.
