RockWaterRelay was a success

Just an FYI and to leave this on our web site for a while longer as a placeholder. The race was awesome. So many people had so much fun and the bike trail has never looked so clean as members of teams cleaned up between stops. Thanks to all of the runners. Thanks to our sponsors; Shop3Thirty, Keane coffee, Cabo Chips, Newport Rib Company, HDX Fit, and Newmeyer and Dillon.

Special Thanks to Robyn Vettraino for organizing and operating this event for the 8th year in a row.

The Surfrider Foundation RockWaterRelay 2015 race is Saturday! A couple reminders before the race;

1. It will be hot, so please plan accordingly. Stay hydrated and might we suggest sunscreen. For hydration on the course, we will have some water at the stations and some paper cups. You are encouraged to bring your own cold water and re-usable water bottles along the course for your team.

2. Race t-shirt pick up and check-in starts at 8:30 at the first stop. The parking for the start near the Honda Center is in the adjacent office building parking. There will be signs to the start which is on the trail near the tables and open space. The race will start at 9 am. Each team is responsible for getting each runner to their stop. Use the map, also available on our website, and plan your route of travel.

3. Finish Line. Talk to the ranger at the Huntington State Beach and note you are with RockWater to get entry and park to see your last runner finish. We will have food from Newport Beach Rib Company, Cabo Chips, and other post-race snacks from Trader Joes. Please remember your cold refreshments to keep hydrated.

4. There will be volunteers, special thanks to HDX fit + shop3thirty,   supporting the race and cleaning-up the areas surrounding our race.  Please keep the course clean of your own trash, and pick up for others along the way. Remember to have fun, take pictures and share stories. The hashtag on Social media for the event is #RockWaterRelay. Our instagram is @SurfriderNewportBeach and our Twitter is @SurfriderNB.
