Just say no to desalination

A desalination plant on or close to the beach makes no sense in Orange County CA. Orange County has one of the best water recycle programs anywhere. We want to use as much water coming down our storm drains as possible. That way we keep contaminants out of the ocean and beach. On October 19 the State Lands Committee will be hearing big business state it’s reason to build a desal plant here but we will be in attendance to keep a balance. Come join us early if possible. We will have more details on Wednesday October 18. The meeting will be held at Huntington Beach at City Council Chambers. 2000 Main Street H.B. 92648

The desalination plant San Diego County has long faced drought conditions. But a new desalination plant has changed all that, allowing the area to get 50 million gallons of fresh drinking water everyday, or enough to serve 400,000 people and 10 percent of the area’s water supply.

Orange County does not face the same fate as San Diego because of our underground storage and water recycling program.

This is not a picture of Orange County but it is a picture of underground water.
