Rise Above Plastics Mission

To reduce the impacts of plastics in the marine environment by raising awareness about the dangers of plastic pollution and by advocating for a reduction of single-use plastics and the recycling of all plastics.

In 2019, our Newport Beach chapter is working to better engage our community in a fun, informative and family friendly manner to spread awareness of our plastic problem and how we can make it better. Together, we can create a #PlasticFreeOC. Check out our social media and events calendar to take advantage of everything we have going on!

We are excited to announce our first ever Groms Club! The Groms Club will offer family friendly events throughout the year focused on educating about the impact of plastic pollution on our community, enjoying the amazing places and organizations of Newport Beach, and, most importantly, having fun together.

There’s no better day than Earth Day to kick it all off. So please come visit our table at Earth Day at the Bay on April 20th. Your grom can pick up their membership card, a calendar of events and join our mailing list. If you are unable to attend but would like to know more about the club as we begin to launch our events, email RAP@newportbeach.surfrider.org.
